This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex land use and zoning matters in New Jersey, with a focus on municipal and county planning board applications and zoning board hearings. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in land use law, with additional expertise in affordable housing, commercial real estate transactions, or representing commercial real estate developers being a plus. The firm offers a collaborative and supportive environment, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development.Duties:Advise clients on complex land use and zoning issues in New Jersey, including handling municipal and county planning board applications and zoning board hearings.Participate in land use hearings and help develop strategies for obtaining permits and approvals.Draft and review documents related to land use matters, such as applications, proposals, and legal correspondence.Assist clients with affordable housing and commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing.Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to ensure the successful development and implementation of real estate projects.Work with developers and institutional investors on real estate transactions and provide legal support on land use concerns.Provide strategic legal counsel to clients in various sectors, including commercial real estate, institutional investors, and developers.Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and responsiveness to legal needs.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in land use law, with a focus on zoning and planning board applications.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.Client-facing experience with the ability to manage client relationships and expectations.Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving legal issues.Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment.A commitment to providing high-quality service to clients.Must be admitted to the New Jersey Bar and in good standing.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active membership in the New Jersey State Bar.Skills:Expertise in land use and zoning law, including municipal planning and zoning board applications.Experience with affordable housing and commercial real estate transactions (preferred but not required).Strong legal writing and analytical skills.Ability to work with complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal and client management skills.Familiarity with New Jersey land use regulations and municipal processes.Benefits:Hybrid work schedule with flexibility for remote and in-office work.Comprehensive healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.Retirement plans and contributions.Paid parental leave and family support resources.Wellness programs and emotional health support.Opportunities for professional development and career growth.Generous paid time off and flexible spending accounts.Firm-sponsored continuing legal education (CLE) programs.
